The Counselling Session
What Is Counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy in which you are provided with a safe and supportive environment to explore and express your thoughts and feelings, in particular those that are preventing you from living a happy and fulfilling life. Talking to a professional can help you look at problems from a different perspective and equip you with the tools to work through them.
What To Expect
The first session is 1 hour long and the following sessions are 50 minute
s. At this initial session we’ll have an opportunity to get a sense of each other. I will describe how I work and we will look at your goals and expectations from therapy.
How Long Does Counselling Take?
The length of time counselling takes varies from person to person. It is recommended that clients commit to a minimum of 6 sessions in order to feel some benefit. Sessions are usually weekly to allow clients time between sessions to process and integrate what is uncovered.
